Human Resources Assistant, Part-Time

Purpose of the Role: To provide support in all aspects of HR and to support Church Community Builder in helping churches grow disciples.

Essential Functions

  • Update and maintain HR files and databases with associates’ benefits, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and similar records. Perform file audits to ensure all required documentation is collected and maintained
  • Prepare, analyze, organize, and assemble data reports for submission to government agencies to include, but not limited to, OSHA logs; EEO-1 submissions; unemployment claims; QDIA Notices; periodic ACA reports such as 1095s; Medicare Part D Annual Notices; and Disclosure to Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Service
  • Maintain HR events calendar to ensure compliance with all government regulatory submissions
  • Assist HR Lead with salary and benefit surveys and other projects as assigned
  • Assist in planning for annual benefits open enrollment
  • Maintain current knowledge on all state and federal laws; to include multi-state laws
  • Assist in annual update of HR Handbook, company guidelines, and forms 
  • Provide support to all associates’ inquiries regarding company policies, guidelines, and benefits
  • Conduct new hire orientations, employment references, and training, as needed
  • Participate in interviews, as needed
  • Assist in maintaining role description classifications and postings
  • Update headcount and other associate-related analytics
  • Assist in out-processing departing associates

Experience/Education level

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development or related required
  • Possess 2 years experience in employment law and/or Human Resource work preferred
  • Knowledge in use of ADP or other HRIS software 
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws required
  • Strong work ethic and confidentiality skills required

While performing the duties of this role, the associate is regularly required to stand or sit, reach, bend, and move about the facility. Facility is normal office environment with variation of temperature and lighting.
